Mohd Rizlan Shah received his formal education in Kedah before migrating to Shah Alam, Selangor with his family. He pursued his dream of becoming a lawyer by enrolling himself in the renowned Faculty of Law at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) under the Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) scholarship.
During his time at UiTM, he was elected as the President of Law Society UiTM for the year 2011/2012. He subsequently obtained a second class upper distinction for both his Bachelor of Legal Studies and Bachelor of Law (Hons) in 2013 and 2014 respectively. He further continued his studies in the field of Syariah law under the UiTM's part-time postgraduate Syariah diploma programme and has since obtained a Diploma Lepasan Syariah & Amalan (DLSA) in 2016.
Concurrently, he secured a position for his pupillage at Messrs Zul Rafique & Partners in November 2014 and was placed in the chambers of Hamdi bin Abdullah the Corporate Energy & Utilities Department where he was exposed to a vast range of substantive corporate work which includes the drafting of documents relating to internal company affairs, corporate real estate, due diligence and various forms of legal opinions.
He was admitted as an advocate & solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on the 6th of November 2015 before the Honourable Yang Arif Dato' Asmabi Mohammad. He then joined Messrs Sulaiman, Jamellah & Clement in January 2016 as a legal associate and subsequently founded MARCO with two other partners bring a myriad of knowledge with regard to corporate real estate and his interest in the internal corporate affairs makes him a valuable asset to MARCO.
Muhammad Mustafa Bin Mohd Zin
Muhammad Mustafa began his journey to the legal profession upon enrolling in the Faculty of Law of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) for his Bachelor of Legal Studies Degree program and Bachelor of Law (Hons) Degree Program as a Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) scholar.
He obtained his first degree, the Bachelor of Legal Studies with distinction Second Class Upper in the year 2013 and subsequently continued his studies and obtained his second degree, the Bachelors of Law (Hons) also with distinction Second Class Upper in the year 2014.
He then commenced his pupillage in the chambers of Farah Shireen binti Mohammed Said at Messrs. Zul Rafique & Partners in November 2014. There, he was placed in the Corporate Energy & Utilities Department, specifically the Oil & Gas department. Under supervision of the partners, he accumulated a wealth of experience particularly in a wide range of due diligence works ranging from domestic and international businesses. His expertise was notable in the field of Maritime Laws and Petroleum legislations.
He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on the 30th of October 2015. Shortly after being admitted to the Bar, he joined Messrs. Sulaiman, Jamellah & Clement in 2015 as a partner at the Sri Rampai Branch. Under his guidance and astounding leadership, the Sri Rampai Branch expanded and flourished in a short period of time. In 2017, he decided to embark on yet another perilous journey with two other partners of in the formation of MARCO.
Amirul Asyraf graduated from the University of Reading, England with a Bachelors of Law (LLB) (Hons) in 2012. Shortly after graduating, he joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2012 as a Digital Ambassador.
This however, was short-lived as he left the bank in 2013 to join Messrs Zahir Khailani as a paralegal to pursue his legal dream. Here, he was exposed to various fields of law practice and firm management which includes conveyancing, banking, general litigation and general corporate.
In 2014, he joined Public Bank Berhad as a Regulatory Compliance Officer where he was one of the pioneers involved in the project team to implement the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) for Public Bank Berhad while at the same time sat for the Certificate for Legal Practice (CLP) exams.
In pursuit of his passion for the law, he started his pupillage after obtaining his CLP in the chambers of Tengku Ierasulkhaier Putra Bin Tengku Alaudin Shah at Messrs Zul Rafique and Partners where he was placed in both the Construction Litigation and Corporate Construction departments and was exposed to various aspects of construction related matters both contentious and non-contentious.
After being admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 30 October 2015, he commenced practice with Messrs Zul Rafique and Partners before joining Messrs Sulaiman, Jamellah & Clement as a Senior Legal Associate. In 2017, he founded MARCO with two other partners bringing a wealth and diverse experience into the firm.
Amirul Asyraf Bin Abd Rasid
Syed Adam graduated from the renowned Faculty of Law at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), with a Bachelor of Legal Studies (Hons) degree in 2013, then Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree in 2014. Upon graduating, he secured his position for his pupillage at Messrs. Bodipalar Ponnudurai de Silva in 2014 and was placed in the chambers of Fiona Mathilda Bodipalar in the Corporate and Litigation department.
He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 3 April 2015. Then, in May 2015 he joined Messrs. Christie Soosay Nathan & Associate as a Legal Associate in the Civil Litigation Department. However, his time there was short-lived as he later co-founded Messrs. Shah & Associate bearing the title of Partner & Founder in March 2016.
Then, in November of 2017, he joined Messrs. Mustafa, Asyraf, Rizlan & Co (MARCO) as the Litigation Partner for the firm. His wide range of experience covers general civil litigation which includes, but not limited to commercial, construction and corporate litigation wherein he has represented corporate bodies (companies, businesses, etc.), developers, and prominent individuals from Magistrate-level courts to the Federal Court. His experience also extends to debt recovery, defamatory, probate, letters of administration and contractual matters.
Clearly, with his wealth of experience and expertise, his addition to MARCO will bolster and strengthen the Litigation Department and subsequently propelled MARCO to new heights.
